Hydrogen Facility Operation Approvals

Beyond approval of construction, hydrogen facilities will generally require initial and possibly periodic operation approvals. Construction permits usually address design, equipment, and construction requirements. Operation approvals address safe operating conditions and maintenance as well as record-keeping. These approvals are normally provided by fire safety and inspection officials rather than permitting officials.
